Melody Kay Bowers Herman, 68, of Patterson, died Friday, May 20, 2022 at Baptist Village in Waycross.
Born in Barberton, OH on July 14, 1953, she had lived in South Carolina and Florida for many years before moving to Patterson 10 years ago. She liked to play with her dog “Scraps”. Before the death of her late husband, she loved to travel the country. Together, they traveled the United States from the top of Florida to the other end of the country. She loved watching her soap operas. Most importantly, she loved her family and spent time with them. After her retirement, she enjoyed having her great-grandchildren and loving them. She was of the Catholic faith.
She was the daughter of the late Robert and Mary Pennington Bowers. She was also predeceased by her husband, John Stephen Herman and daughter, Crystal Jenkins.
Survivors include his son, Steven (Vanessa) Herman, Patterson; her brother, Robert “Bob” Bowers of Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Terry Jenkins, Victoria Jenkins, Bridget Jenkins, Gregory (Ashley) Herman, Jacob Herman (fiancé Sarahann Kicklighter) and Valerie Herman; two great-grandchildren, Rodney Williams Jr. and Waylon Herman; a son-in-law Terry Jenkins of South Carolina and other relatives.
Commemoration is by cremation.
