Little River Band plays Cape Cod’s Melody Tent


BARNSTABLE, MA — Little River Band, the Australian rockers who’ve been hitting albums and touring since the 1970s, will make a stop at the Melody Tent in Barnstable on Friday.

The group released a number of multi-platinum albums in the 1970s and 80s, with hits such as “Reminiscing”, “Cool Change” and “Lonesome Loser”.

According to the band, worldwide album sales now exceed 30 million. The peak of their career came in 1982, when they became the first band to have a top 10 for six consecutive years.

The current lineup of the band consists of these musicians, their website states:

  • “Keyboardist Chris Marion is a Dove Award-winning producer. Chris is the creator of all of The Big Box’s arrangements and orchestral charts.”
  • “Nashville singer-songwriter and guitarist Bruce Wallace plays rhythm guitar and adds a new layer to the vocal harmonies. The addition of Bruce to the lineup has added to the energy of the already high-energy LRB.”
  • “Drummer Ryan Ricks has locked in the rhythm section and complements the vocals with his incredible range. Great singing drummers are rare…and LRB is lucky to have Ryan as part of this all-important vocal mix.”
  • “Nashville guitarist Colin Whinnery plays rhythm and lead guitar, and shares lead vocal duties with Wayne. He brings a whole new voice and perspective to the rhythm section.”

The show starts at 8 p.m.whose doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets are currently on sale starting at $38.
