“With evocative images of rural life and landscapes, Tim seamlessly blends his deeply personal ruminations on family, friends, lovers, the transient life of a musician, and the often confusing nature of existence – and creates a universally felt home for memory, gratitude, acceptance, and regret. His songs carry an independent spirit and courage…a tough yet romantic eye that seems instilled in the greatest songwriters- composers.
~ Alan Cackett from UK

Learn more about Tim Grimm:
Tim Grimm is a bit of a Renaissance man in the performing arts world. Over the past 20 years he has blended his love for songwriting, travel and storytelling with actors (theater, film and television). His latest recording, GONE, was released in March 2021 and debuted at #1 folk album of the month. Its title track was released as a single in October 2020 and ended up being the most played song on folk radio of the year.
Tim’s songs are full of the rural rumblings that shaped his life – rich in descriptive detail and sung with warmth and intimacy – acknowledging the unquenchable national romance with the idea of the family farm and America’s vanishing landscape rural. He released the album, HEART LAND in 2000 and, thanks to this recording, was named “BEST DISCOVERY in Roots/Americana Music” of the 2000s by The Chicago Sun Times. His albums COYOTES DREAM and NAMES earned him the title of “2004 MALE ARTIST of The Year” by the Freeform American Roots DJs.
He has released 10 solo albums since 2000, including the most recent: THE TURNING POINT and 2 collaborations: AMBER WAVES (with Jason Wilber) and WILDERNESS PLOTS — a concept cd made with many of the Midwest’s top songwriters: Krista Detor, Carrie Newcomer, Tom Roznowski and Michael White. The recording was taken from short stories by renowned author, Scott Russell Sanders, and explored the colonization of the American wilderness in the Ohio River Valley region between the Revolutionary War and the Civil War. Two PBS programs explored Wilderness Plots — the first, a documentary about the story and the song, and the second, a full Wilderness Plots©¤In Concert (2012). Produced by WTIU in Bloomington, IN, both productions were nominated for Emmy Awards. Tim continued to write songs based on Sander’s writings and released the album, WILDERNESS SONGS AND BAD MAN BALLADS in 2011.
“Tim Grimm should be considered an Indiana treasure. This one (Wilderness Songs and Bad Man Ballads) blew my mind when I first listened to it in the fall and still haunts me 4 months later. late. I’m nominating “China” as the song of the year.” ~ Steve Clarke — host, Acoustic Planet-CHES, Canada
