Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, speaking to reporters after the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) board meeting, said the government and the RBI were in “complete harmony” on cryptocurrencies and other issues as well, according to various media.
“So with the RBI and the ministry, not just on crypto but also on everything else, I think over the last few years you would have noticed that there is complete harmony that we are working with. We respect each other’s domain and know what to do with each other’s priorities,” she said.
Meanwhile, Indian cricketer Bhuvneshwar Kumar is set to launch his own non-fungible tokens (NFTs) in partnership with cricketing digital collectibles platform Rario. These NFTs will be exclusively available on Rario.
In the cryptocurrency market, the price of Bitcoin (BTC) fell again, by 1.24%. The cryptocurrency was trading at $42,044.95 as of 6:00 p.m. Its dominance in the crypto market is currently at 42.69%, up 0.42% in the last 24 hours, according to Coinmarketcap.com.
Ethereum (ETH) was trading at $2,867.07, down 2.47% over the past 24 hours, while Binance Coin (BNB) was down 2.12% over the same time frame and trading at $396.28. Solana (SOL) was down 3.81% at $92.69 and Cardano (ADA) was down 3.61% at $1.03.
Among the major meme coins, Dogecoin was down 5.44% and trading at $0.1446 as of 6:00 p.m. Rival Shiba Inu was up 1.60% and trading at $0.00002998. Dogelon Mars fell 3.97% and traded at $0.0000009339, while Samoyedcoin traded at $0.02282, registering a steeper fall of 9.01%.
The global crypto market capitalization was $1.87 trillion, registering a decline of 2.06% in the past 24 hours, while the total crypto market volume was $66.35 billion, up 3.85%.
ROBOTSHIBSWAP (RIBSHIB) became the biggest gainer, rising 323.78%. It was trading at $0.0007917 as of 6:00 p.m., according to data from Coinmarketcap. In contrast, MetaDogecolony (DOGECO) recorded the maximum loss, dropping 98.89%. According to Coinmarketcap, it was trading at $0.0000001.
