Escape from a maniac’s mansion by blasting tunes in fast paced FPS Robobeat

Robobeat is a brutal, fast-paced first-person shooter, and if you’re having trouble visualizing exactly what that means, hopefully the footage appearing in Kwalee’s montage at the Future Games Show Powered by Mana will help you explain it.

The concept of Robobeat is simple – you, the anonymous protagonist, have been captured and imprisoned in an ever-changing mansion created by a crazed showman, and the only way to escape is to captivate the audience your performance is broadcast to. Wait, it’s not obvious at all…

Either way, the path to this achievement is to jump, slide, and dodge your way around the various rooms, while shooting enemies in time for the pounding beats that accompany your run. Keep the beat with precision and your multiplier will rise, increasing your score and ultimately working towards the endgame that can free you from this heart-pounding prison.

You’ll need to mix things up to continue your runs, so there’s a wide range of moves you can throw to maintain your progress, from wall runs and bunny hops to grappling hooks and rocket jumps. You can also combine weapons and add-ons, like attaching an aimbot to a revolver, creating new variants that will help you build your chains of attacks.

The rogue-lite element comes into play thanks to the fact that rooms are randomized with different layouts, items, and secrets to discover each time. Add plot twists and stunning optical illusions, and no game will be alike.

Robobeat is due to come to PC in 2023, but if you want a preview you can request access to The Last Beat Playtest via Steam (opens in a new tab).
