Concerns release their new album Provisions in September and after the first single “Ricochet”, they continue to generate enthusiasm with the new release, “Death of Melody”. Singer Matthew Flegel says:
“It’s about having a song stuck in your head, and having no idea what it is, and driving you to the brink of insanity trying to figure out what it is.. It’s about knowing and forgetting, about existing halfway between the permanent and the temporary.
We’re placed in Flegel’s mind on “Death of Melody” and mental decay has already set in; the guitars groan and the ground shakes from the hard-hitting rhythm section, combining to make a hair-raising facsimile of angst. Flegel’s vocals are achingly electrifying in the middle, his screams making your blood run cold as they’re drowned out by the volcanic lineup of instruments that continues to build throughout the track. It’s hard-hitting and experiential, the kind of song that threatens to crumble the very foundations of any venue it’s soon to be played in.
